Privacy, shipping, and billing

PRIVACY

  • By filling out the contact form on this site, you will be sharing your email address with me, and I will send you a reply. If it is more convenient for you, we may take down each other’s phone numbers. That is the full extent to which I will collect your personal information, and it will never be sold or distributed to a third party.

  • The current host of this site does collect anonymized data for analytics purposes.

  • You will never receive unsolicited emails or calls from me. There is no mailing list.

SHIPPING

  • Please note that I do not provide shipping services, and all orders should be considered pick-up only. In case this is not practical, I’m happy to crate pieces for pickup by an agreed-upon carrier, at the client’s discretion and expense. Crating is an additional service, and will be quoted if required. The cost of shipping, crating, and any related services are the sole responsibility of the client.

  • All items will always be realistically represented on all shipping documentation, including commercial invoices and customs declarations when applicable. If you are thinking of shipping cross-border, please let me know so that I can ensure that any wood used in your piece(s) is permitted for international shipment.

  • Pick-up is from Hamilton, ON, Canada. Right in the middle of downtown. It is an interesting city with a lot to offer, so if you’re considering pickup, I’d urge you to make a day of it and have a look around town.

BILLING, RETURNS, REPAIRS

  • Commissioned projects are quoted in detail, and require an accepted quote and approved drawings to proceed. Larger projects and site-work will generally require a signed contract and accompanying schedule for work and payment. Changes to any agreed-upon specifications and/or schedules is possible, but only with a signed change order reflecting the change(s) and the effect on project cost and timeline. Project and account statements are available to clients at any time upon request, and will be provided along with dated receipts for any payment received during your project. Final balances must be paid prior to, or upon, pickup.

  • Payment via Interac E-Transfer is preferred. All orders are subject to applicable taxes. There is no “cash discount”.

  • Custom work is not returnable. In case of failure of material, design or workmanship, all needed repairs or replacement of the piece will be undertaken promptly (by me) at no expense to the client. For furniture, guarantees against material defects and workmanship are considered “lifetime” (either the lifetime of the furniture, or the maker). For installed work (trim, cabinetry, etc.), all work is guaranteed for 1 year from the date of installation.

  • Wear and tear is to be expected over the lifespan of a piece of furniture, but sometimes unexpected things happen. I will always repair my own work, although abuse of an item will void any and all guarantees. If you leave your coffee table outside in the snow, I’ll fix it up to look like new, but not for free.
